For today, I think the working title of my NaNo novel will be Packing Up. It's a reference to two things...one, the main character's desire to pack up and leave her current life (which she may actually do for part of the novel), and two, the expanding of her family (her "pack," as their last name is Wolfley...ha ha) as her father gets remarried and gets a new stepdaughter. BUT, there's still the problem that I'm not sure I'd pick up a novel called Packing Up! I also considered Packed and Ready, but that seems like even more of a stretch. I will probably change it all later, anyway. With luck, I'll find some great turn of phrase in the finished novel I can use for a title.
I'm also excited because I got my short writing article written last night--a description of my first sale--and sent it to ByLine's First Sale column today. I've been wanting to send them something for at least 10 years, and finally had something to write about! I also got my other manuscripts mailed out. Hooray! And I got a letter from Once Upon A Time today, saying that my humor piece, When the Muse Strikes (Out), will appear in their next issue, to be mailed out next week. They accepted it last February, so I'm glad it will see print soon. I realize this has nothing to do with my NaNo novel, but hey, I've got the blog and I'm gonna use it.
